Faith @ First - November 7, 2025
Dear Noblesville First Family,
During my recent trip to Paris, I was overwhelmed not just by the beauty of the city, but by the quiet sermons being preached through its art. In soaring cathedrals and chapels, I stood before statues and stained glass that spoke without a single word. Each carved figure, each painted panel, each shard of colored glass told the story of faith — of people who poured their devotion into marble, canvas, and light. These works preached without breath, but their message was alive: God is here.
In the hushed glow of the Sacré-Coeur, where sunlight transformed glass into glory, I felt it — the power of beauty to lead the heart to worship. I realized that art is not merely decoration; it’s testimony. The sculptor who shaped a saint’s face, the painter who layered gold upon blue — they were not just artists, but witnesses. Their hands became instruments of divine truth, creating something that could speak long after their voices were gone.
And the good news is, we don’t have to go to Paris to experience that sacred beauty. Every day, in small acts of creation — a meal prepared with love, a song shared, a story told, a kindness offered — we, too, reflect the heart of God. The same Spirit that inspired those artists moves through us. The things we make, give, and share can help others see the grace and glory of the Creator.
So wherever you are, let your work be your worship. Create with care. Love with beauty. Testify with your hands. For when we do, we join that ancient chorus — preaching without words, witnessing without breath, and pointing others to the presence of God.
I hope you’ll join us in worship this Sunday as we share in the message: “Hands that Create.”
Keep the Faith@First,
Pastor Nicole
