Faith@First - December 24,, 2025
I can hardly wait until tomorrow night.
There is a kind of holy anticipation that settles into my heart every Christmas Eve—an energy that feels both reverent and joyful, quiet and alive all at once. It’s the joy of gathering again, year after year, to remember a story that never grows old. A story that still shines.
I look forward to the worship—the familiar hymns, the gentle glow of the sanctuary, the sound of voices joining together in hope. But most of all, I look forward to that moment when the lights dim and the first candle is lit. When we begin to sing Silent Night.
Each year, I watch as the flame is passed from candle to candle, person to person, pew to pew. One small light becomes many. The room slowly fills with a warm glow, and for a moment, everything else fades away. No rushing. No noise. Just light, song, and wonder.
That simple act is a visual reminder of the miracle we celebrate: a God whose light cannot be contained. A God whose love spreads—not through force or spectacle, but through presence. Through humility. Through grace.
The light of Christ moves the same way it always has—quietly, faithfully, from one life to another. It reaches us where we are, then invites us to carry it forward. What begins as a single flame becomes a shared brightness, stronger together than alone.
So, if you’re longing for that light—if you’re craving peace, joy, or simply a moment to breathe—you are invited. Join us for Christmas Eve worship at 5:00 in Celebration Hall, or 9:00 or 11:00 in the Sanctuary. Wherever you sit, a candle will be waiting for you to hold, ready to be lit. Come and share in the wonder of a God whose light still shines—and always will.
Keep the Faith @ First,
Pastor Nicole
P.S. One of my friends joined us in worship and sent this photo of our congregation on Christmas Eve last year :)
