Faith@First - February 14, 2025
Dear Noblesville First Family,
Life and faith are full of emotions—joy and sorrow, peace and anxiety, hope and despair. But the good news is that no matter what we feel, God meets us right where we are.
When anger rises within us, God invites us to acknowledge it: "Be angry and do not sin; do not let the sun go down on your anger" (Ephesians 4:26). God is big enough to handle our frustration and leads us toward healing rather than bitterness.
In moments of anxiety, God reassures us: "Do not be anxious about anything, but in every situation, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to" (Philippians 4:6). God longs to replace our worry with perfect peace.
And even in the depths of depression, when hope feels out of reach, God does not abandon us. "The Lord is near to the brokenhearted and saves the crushed in spirit" (Psalm 34:18). Here's the truth, no matter what we feel, we are never alone—God’s love sustains us even in the darkest valleys.
This Sunday, join us in worship as we seek the presence of the One who meets in the midst of every emotion. Well dive into the story of Elijah and how his epic meltdown of depression shows us that we can bring our whole selves before God, trusting in unfailing love.
And, if you or someone you know is struggling with managing overwhelming emotions, we invite you to register for our Managing Meltdowns Workshop on February 20 with Kristen Boice, a licensed counselor from Pathways to Healing Counseling. Come and learn practical ways to navigate emotions with faith and wisdom. I'll see you Sunday but until then, remember that You are seen, loved, and never alone.
Keep the Faith@First,
Pastor Nicole
