Last Wednesday snow came overnight. I hadn’t yet bought my children hats, scarves or gloves but that mattered little to them. They simply couldn’t wait to dive right in the snow!
Watching them, I couldn’t help but wonder: What if we approached worship with that same urgent hope? What if we couldn’t wait to gather together and experience the hope that God offers us this advent season?
For God’s hope is like fresh snow, covering our lives with promises of renewal, peace, and salvation. In Romans 15:13, Paul prays, “May the God of hope fill you with all joy and peace as you trust in Him, so that you may overflow with hope by the power of the Holy Spirit.” This isn’t just a quiet, reserved hope—it’s an overflowing, eager hope that transforms us and compels us to share it with others.
This week, we invite you to worship with us as we focus on this “Hope That Can’t Wait.” Like children dashing into the snow, let’s come with expectant hearts, ready to encounter God’s presence. Our worship will be further enriched by the choir from Janus Developmental Services (please insert hyperlink to their webpage: https://www.janus-inc.org) who will be singing their songs of the season and selling their beautiful Christmas wares in our Parlor for the next few weeks. All of the proceeds from these purchases help adults live fully into their abilities.
Together, let’s dive into the boundless hope God offers—because this hope, like children playing in the snow, just can’t wait!
P.S. Yes, that's really a laundry basket they're carrying and a sock on Isabella's hand. I told you- they couldn't wait!
