Faith @ First - March 27, 2026

I remember a time on the basketball court when my coach benched me because I wasn’t running the play the right way. I didn’t like it at all. I was frustrated, even embarrassed. I wanted to be in the game, not sitting on the sidelines!
But while I sat and watched, something shifted. I could finally see what I had been missing—the spacing, the timing, how the play was meant to unfold. What felt like punishment became perspective. That moment of accountability didn’t break me—it made me better. I returned to the game more focused and more committed to my team.
In our faith, Jesus does the same for us. Sometimes He slows us down or corrects us so we can see more clearly. His accountability is love in action—shaping us into stronger disciples and better teammates.
As we move towards Palm Sunday and Holy Week I invite you to consider: How is God calling you to accountability right now? What do you need to see more clearly so you can get back in the game of faith?
This Sunday, we’ll explore this theme of Accountability as our guest preacher, Rev. Dr. Jevon Caldwell-Gross, Director of Church Revitalization and New Church Development of the Indiana Conference of the United Methodist Church preaches.
We hope to see you in worship and continue growing in our full court faith.
Keep the Faith@First,
Pastor Nicole
