Peter often gets remembered for sinking. But before he sank, he did something that no one else in the boat was willing to do. He stepped out. The familiar boat represented safety, certainty, and comfort. The water represented uncertainty. It was risky. It was unfamiliar. And yet, when Jesus called, Peter discovered that faith isn't about having all the answers. Starting something new can feel a little like stepping out of the boat. Yet throughout Scripture, God rarely asks people to remain where they are comfortable. Again and again, God calls ordinary people to trust, to move, and to discover that God's faithfulness is already waiting on the other side of their obedience. The same is true for each of us. Perhaps your "boat" is a routine you've grown comfortable with. Maybe it's a fear that's kept you from serving, joining a small group, inviting a friend to church, or trying something new. Maybe your next faithful step is simply saying "yes" to where God is leading. Perhaps Faith Lab is one expression of that "yes." It's our congregation choosing to invest in the next generation.
