The One Who Intercedes

Series: Who's Your Four?

August 17, 2025 | Rev. Nicole Caldwell-Gross

Intervention doesn’t always look dramatic. Sometimes it’s a conversation. A prayer whispered in faith. Showing up when others don’t. Or, yes—smiling with whipped cream sliding down your cheek because you believe in the next generation. Most importantly, we’re grateful that Jesus intervened for us. He is the faithful friend who carries us when we cannot walk on our own.

So—who’s your four? Who will you carry to Jesus this week?

Series Information

Who are the four people in your life who need your prayers? Who needs your hope, your help, your grace, your forgiveness? Who needs to experience the love of Jesus through you?

We are asking a simple but powerful question: Who’s your four? Four people. Four souls. Four lives that God has placed on your path for a reason.

These could be friends, family members, coworkers, neighbors—anyone who is far from faith, who feels forgotten, who is hungry for hope but doesn’t know where to find it. Over the next several months, we will be praying for these four people—your four—by name. We will create intentional spaces for them to encounter no-judgment grace through special events at the church. We will especially invite them to walk with us during Lent and into the hope of Easter.
Why? Because this is what it means to be a disciple of Jesus. It’s not just about growing in our own faith—it’s about sharing the good news of Jesus with others.
