Series: Led By The Spirit
April 13, 2025 | Rev. Nicole Caldwell-Gross
As Jesus enters Jerusalem riding on a humble colt, the crowd cheers with celebration—but Jesus knows the peace they seek isn’t found in power or quick fixes. In this Palm Sunday story, we explore what it means to be led into peace by a Savior who refuses to meet violence with violence, and who chooses the path of love even when it leads to the cross. This sermon invites us to look deeper at our own expectations of peace and recognize how Jesus gently redefines it—not as the absence of struggle, but as the presence of hope, courage, and unwavering love. Come be reminded that true peace isn’t something we achieve—it’s Someone we follow.

Through the rich heritage of the Spirituals, we will encounter the deep well of faith, resilience, and hope that has carried generations through the wilderness and into God’s promise of resurrection. Join us for Sunday worship, where our messages and music will be amplified by our Chancel choir, musicians and dynamic guest preachers: Rev. Dr. Cynthia Wilson, (March 9) renowned gospel artist, former dean at Garrett Theological Seminary, and Director of the Junius B. Dotson Institute for Music and Worship and Rev. Lan Wilson (March 16), vocalist, worship leader and Associate Director of Mission & Justice for the Indiana Conference of the UMC.
